    Abu Dhabi Police enhances traffic awareness with the “Safety Path” campaign for private company employees

    Abu Dhabi(News Desk)::AbuDhabi Police has enhanced awareness within the (Safety Path 2) campaign for employees of private sector companies on traffic safety rules and avoiding traffic accidents, their causes, effects and resulting losses through an awareness lecture implemented by the Traffic Awareness and Education Section in the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate in the Central Operations Sector for employees of private companies with the aim of enhancing safety for employees, drivers and road users.

    Brigadier Mahmoud Yousef Al Balushi, Director of the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, explained that the awareness campaign focused on spreading the culture of traffic safety and identifying the dangers of wrong behaviors committed by some drivers, praising the positive reactions of the public to the objectives of the (Safety Path 2 Campaign) within the strategic priority of road safety, which focuses on implementing traffic safety regulations, increasing traffic culture, and reducing the number of accidents leading to deaths and serious injuries.

    The lecture was delivered by First Assistant Yaqoub Yousef Al Hosani from the Traffic Awareness and Education Branch of the Traffic and Security Patrols Department in the External Areas, warning of the dangers of running a red light and the need to ensure that vehicles do not cross traffic lights unless their path is clear to make way for vehicles coming from other directions in the event of a traffic light change, stressing the need to raise traffic culture among drivers to avoid the dangers of stopping in a yellow box.

    The lecture reviewed the risks of being distracted from driving due to using the phone to browse the Internet and social networking sites, make calls, or take pictures, and other behaviors that may lead to serious traffic accidents. It included guidance advice for users of electric bikes, and focused on the necessity of using them on the designated paths for their practice, with the obligation to wear a helmet, knee bumpers, and reflective clothing (phosphorous), especially when riding at night, and to provide the bike with a white reflective front light and a red rear light linked to the brakes, and to adhere to safety instructions, prevention requirements, and regulations, and to park it in the designated places for it (if any), and not to leave it in a way that obstructs the movement of vehicles or pedestrians, and not to install it on traffic sign posts and lighting poles.

    She called on cyclists to wear a helmet and use protective covers for the arms and knees, provide the bike with a white front light and a red rear light, place a reflective rear plate to alert road users, not carry weights that affect the balance of the cyclist, ride on service roads and paths designated for bicycles, drive carefully on pedestrian paths to avoid colliding with them, use designated paths in parks and stay away from crowded areas.

    Brigadier Mahmoud Yousef Al Balushi, Director of the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, urged drivers to adhere to the specified speeds when activating the speed reduction system on the roads, maintain an appropriate safe distance from other vehicles, not apply the brakes suddenly, and slow down significantly when turning to prevent the car from skidding and pulling to the side of the road in the event of feeling a lack of visibility while driving.

    He explained that driving in rainy conditions requires taking the necessary measures to enhance the safety of the driver and his companions by keeping the car windows clean to obtain a clear vision and maintaining the car’s headlights to improve vision when driving.

    AbuDhabi(News Desk)::The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Councils in the Office of Citizens and Community Affairs at the Presidential Court, organized an awareness dialogue session entitled (Abu Dhabi Community… Your Consent Matters) at the Al Mutaradh Saif bin Mia Al Afari Council in the Al Amerah area of Al Ain City, in the presence of a number of community members, officers and affiliates. The council stressed the importance of continuous awareness to prevent crime, and the volunteer team “We Are All Police” from the Community Police Department participated in its sessions.

    Brigadier Dr. Hamoud Saeed Al Afari, Director of the Community Police Department, stressed the interest of Abu Dhabi Police in organizing awareness councils for their role in exchanging knowledge and shared responsibility between security personnel and members of society and its institutions, as part of enhancing the security awareness system among the public, introducing police services and the best smart applications, and achieving institutional leadership represented in its vision of “Abu Dhabi is a global leader in sustainable security and safety.”

    Colonel Sultan Subaih Al Manai, Deputy Director of Al Saad Police Station for Crime Affairs at Al Ain Police Directorate, pointed out the importance of continuous awareness to prevent crime by highlighting the efforts made by Abu Dhabi Police through community campaigns and initiatives that contribute to providing a preventive security culture against negative behaviors and phenomena.

    He provided a number of tips on the importance of securing property in homes, especially when travelling, and adhering to the necessary safety measures when using heating devices and not leaving them on while sleeping for everyone’s safety.

    He warned against reckless driving or using vehicles to disturb residential areas, pointing out the importance of safe driving and its importance in avoiding serious traffic accidents and the resulting deaths. He stressed the importance of doubling supervision over children during the winter vacation, and exploiting their free time in a way that benefits them and is beneficial, and protecting them from the risks of blackmail and abuse through social media and protecting them from the risks of using violent electronic games, stressing the keenness of Abu Dhabi Police to spread reassurance and maintain stability within the framework of an integrated security police system.

    Lieutenant Colonel Fawaz Abdulhaq Al Balushi, Director of the Information and Monitoring Center at the Security Information Department, reviewed the information security and cyber protection policy, information exchange, and how to deal with phishing and suspicious mail methods and the effects resulting from fraud and scams in their various forms and types from social media and websites, stressing the importance of preparing security for personal accounts to avoid cybercrimes and hacking operations.

    Major Mahmoud Ali Al Balushi from the Security Information Department stressed the need to quickly report any fraudulent operations and to beware of fraudsters’ methods and their luring of victims in misleading ways, noting that there is a professional team that handles these cases with complete professionalism, confidentiality and privacy, in order to enhance the police’s efforts to confront these fraudulent methods and protect society from their dangers.

    Major Abdul Aziz Rashid Al Nuaimi, Head of the Investigation Department at Al Ain Police Directorate, reviewed the objectives of the service of opening reports through a specialized platform launched via the “Police Center in Your Phone” application, which allows users of its smart application to communicate and follow up on the procedures for opening a report from home or work without the need to visit the police station to ensure the comfort and happiness of customers, in addition to providing evidence, documents and information related to the incident that is the subject of the report with ease and simplicity. He pointed out that the United Arab Emirates is among the countries that have adopted information technology in various fields to facilitate its delivery to all citizens, residents and visitors of the country, pointing out that the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police has taken the initiative to activate the best advanced technical services in all areas of police work to facilitate their delivery and obtain proactive and innovative police services that shorten the time of completion and enhance the process of modernization and development in security work.

    Brigadier Abdul Wahab Ibrahim Al Hosani, Director of the Legal Affairs Directorate, said: “Today, we join national and international institutions in celebrating the International Human Rights Day under the slogan ‘Our Rights, Our Future, Immediately’, explaining that the campaign of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights this year focused on the fact that human rights are the path to solutions, as they play a crucial role and constitute a preventive, protective and transformative force for good, especially in times of crisis.”

     AbuDhabi(News Desk)::The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police launched the seventh edition of its awareness campaign “Our Winter is Safe and Enjoyable” which will last for two months in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority and strategic partners, with the aim of enhancing preventive awareness among the public during the winter season and adhering to the laws and regulations that have been put in place for their safety and the safety of everyone.

    The campaign targets all segments of society and focuses on raising awareness through Abu Dhabi Police social media platforms and media partners, by publishing press releases, television and radio interviews that include visual and audio messages, distributing educational publications and brochures in the field, and holding councils that host specialists in this field, in addition to raising awareness of suffocation incidents and fires resulting from heating devices.

    The campaign focuses on several axes, including enhancing security, safety and positivity in wilderness areas, maintaining public safety, avoiding negative and dangerous behaviors and noise, educating families about adhering to preventive measures to protect children from falling from residential buildings, and constant monitoring when they approach windows, and the dangers of leaving furniture adjacent to windows to avoid children using them, which leads to tragic falling accidents, and intensifying supervision of children during the winter vacation period, not being distracted from them, and protecting them from the risks of blackmail and abuse via social media and electronic games, such as bullying, threats and harassment, and protecting them from being lured into sharing their photos and data and involving them in immoral activities.

    The campaign calls for enhancing efforts to provide safety and protect young people from the dangers of using motorcycles without personal protective equipment or driving them recklessly, in order to avoid serious traffic accidents that result in deaths and serious injuries that often lead to disability.

    The campaign calls on users of electric and bicycles to adhere to the designated paths and parks, stay away from areas crowded with vehicles, not to drive in the opposite direction, wear a helmet and use protective covers for the arms and knees, provide the bike with a white front light and a red rear light, place a reflective rear plate to alert road users, and not carry weights that affect the bike user’s balance.

    The campaign urges parents to protect their children from using violent electronic games, which incite children and adolescents to aggression and commit crimes. It stresses the need for parents to play their important role in following up and monitoring their children and intervening in choosing electronic games and applications with good and harmless content.
