Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, expressed his appreciation for the generouspatronage and the continuous support the Award gained from H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, for its contribution to the development of the date palm cultivation and production sector at the national, regional and international levels.

    This is in addition to strengthening the UAE’s leading position, through cooperation with date-producing countries and concerned regional and international organizations, where His Excellency expressed his confidence in the efforts of the Award’s General Secretariat,which played an important role in building international partnerships to develop thissector.
    Dr. Abdelouahhab Zaid, Secretary General of Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, during his speech at the press conference held on Monday,29 th of January, 2024, at the Emirates Palace hotel, Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Dr.Helal Humaid Saed Al Kaabi, Member of the Award’s Board of Trustees, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Council for quality and conformity, announced the winners names of Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, in its Sixteenth session, 2024.

    The Award’s Secretary General then added that based on the Scientific Committee’s report, the names of the winners of Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, in its Sixteenth session, 2024, have been determined in accordance with the international standards and mechanisms used in granting the Award, and which then were approved by H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan,

    A qualitative leap and big steps
    The Award’s Secretary General then added that the Award has made great achievements since its inception, as it has achieved a leading position, where it is the first award of its kind in the world, thanks to the generous patronage and continuous support of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and close follow-up of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the
    Award’s Board of Trustees. Pointing out that the Award’s Sixteenth session did gain the
    participation of 74 researchers, representing 18 countries.
    Award’s International statistics
    From his side, Dr. Helal Humaid Saed Al Kaabi, member of the Award’s Board of Trustees, indicated that the Award’s Sixteenth session was distinguished by a set of keybpoints, as follows:
    1. The number of applicants reached 74 candidates, representing 18 countries frombacross the world.
    2. The number of Emirati applicants to the International Award reached 11 candidates, i.e.15 %, where the highest participation rate was to the “Agricultural Innovation” category.

    3. The number of applicants to the International Award from the Arab countries, reachedb 67 candidates, i.e. 90.5%, where the highest participation rate was to the “Distinguished
    studies and modern technology” category.
    4. The number of applicants to the International Award from the rest of the world reached
    7 candidates, i.e. 9.5%, where the highest participation rate was to the “Development projects” category, and the “Agricultural Innovation” category.
    In general, the “Distinguished Studies and Modern Technology” category, recorded as usual the highest participation rate among the Award’s categories, over the past sessions, as the percentage of participants in this category reached 38%, while the “Agricultural Innovation” category recorded 29.7% participations, the “Development Projects” category recorded 13.5%, the “Distinguished Personality” category 12.1%, and
    the “Distinguished Producers” category recorded 6.7% of the participations.

    The trip organized in collaboration with Singapore Civil Defence Force and offered the opportunity for volunteers to gain best in class knowledge and enhance their capabilities

    AbuDhabi(News Desk): SANID, the robust emergency response volunteer programme of the UAE, engaged in an important visit to Singapore in collaboration with Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). The purpose of the trip was to enrich the skills of SANID volunteers and gain best in class knowledge to enhance capabilities and better serve the UAE community.This initiative proved an excellent way of incentivizing and motivating SANID’s dedicated volunteers, while also building strong connections with key players in emergency response globally.

    The trip fell under the SANID International Knowledge Exchange Programme and was run in collaboration with SCDF – a government agency relying significantly on volunteers to provide emergency response services, boasting over 6,000 active volunteers who offer firefighting, rescue, ambulance services, and community education.

    Commenting on the significance of the trip, Mohammed Al Hosani, Director of Programmes at Emirates Foundation, said: “I would like to sincerely thank SCDF for their role in making this trip a success. It has been hugely rewarding to see our dedicated team of emergency response volunteers embark on this transformative mission to Singapore. In an ever-changing global landscape, the importance of exchanging knowledge and staying updated on the latest emergency response practices cannot be overstated.”

    “Our partnership with Singapore exemplifies our commitment to international collaboration in the pursuit of safety and resilience. As a country, it is essential we not only strengthen our own capabilities but also contribute to the broader cause of global safety.     AbuDhabi(News Desk)::Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation General Secretariat,issued two new books, the first entitled “The 50 most beautiful poems in love of date palm trees”, out of 1,558 participating poems, and the second book entitled ”The most beautiful 90 photographs of the blessed tree” out of 3,426 pictures, where these publications come within the Award’s framework of its social responsibility, by enhancing the participation of various segments of the society from poets, intellectuals and artists (photographers) in love with the date palm tree, through the beautiful words written by young poets from across the Arab countries, in addition to great pictures taken by the most skilled photographers from across the world.
    Dr. Abdelouahhab Zaid, Secretary General of Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, did confirm on this occasion, that the poems included in the book are the winning and distinguished poems in the "Date Palm International Poetry" competition, launched by the Award in 2017, which aims to employ Nabati poetry and formal Arabic poetry as an important mean of developing public awareness on the importance of the date palm tree in terms of heritage, agriculture, food and economy.      Nominations are now open for “Date Palm International Photography” competition in its 15th session, 2024, and “Date Palm International Poetry” competition in its 8th session, 2024.

     Nomination for both competitions is open until 31st of December, 2023.

Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation Board of Trustees, the Award’s General Secretariat announced opening candidature for the “Date Palm International Photography” competition in its Fifteenth session, 2024. Professional photographers, and photography lovers from all over the world are invited to participate in this international competition, which is held in appreciation of the date palm tree and to enhance the role of photographers in enriching a places’ memory and reviving its environmental heritage. The Award’s General Secretariat also announced opening candidature for the “Date Palm International Poetry” competition in its 8th session, 2024. Where poets from all Arab countries are invited to participate in this international competition, in appreciation of the date palm tree, and accepting Arabic poetry in both dialects (Nabati and El Fasih). As it is an important mean that embraces developing the public’s awareness on the importance of the date palm tree in terms of heritage, agriculture, food and economy, and in strengthening the role of poetry in enriching a place’s memory and reviving its agricultural heritage.

     This came in a press statement made by Dr. Abdelwahab Zaid, Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation Secretary General, and highlighting the great success achieved in the past sessions, as this is reflected in the significant increase in the number of participants from around the world and the quality of the participations received.

    The two competitions come under the directives of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees, aiming to help strengthen the human relationship with the date palm tree, where this reflects the unlimited support of His Excellency for the blessed tree by employing the art of photography, and Arabic poetry to develop public awareness of the importance of the date palm tree, and creating a space for the exchange of cultures from across the world, also added Dr. Abdelwahab Zaid.

    Regarding the categories and awards of the two competitions, the Award’s Secretary-General indicated that the “Date Palm International Photography” competition consists of two categories: (Date Palm Category) and (Date Palm Handicrafts Category), where the “Date Palm International Poetry” competition consists of two categories also: (El Fasih Poetry) and (Nabati Poetry), as for the winners’ awards of the two competitions, they are as follows: the First place winner in each category receives an amount of 15,000 Emirati Dirhams, the Second place winner in each category receives an amount of 10,000 Emirati Dirhams, and the Third place winner in each category receives an amount of 5,000 Emirati Dirhams, in addition to an appreciation certificate, and a trophy.  Moving on to the evaluation mechanism, an international committee of experts in photography and poetry evaluate the received participations, where the deadline for receiving photos is the 31st of December, 2023, exclusively through the dedicated website (https://www.datepalmphoto.com/), while the deadline for receiving poems is the 31st of December, 2023, exclusively through the dedicated website (https://www.datepalmpoetry.com/). Among the brand’s top-performing solutions last year include: the Garment Steamer, which achieved 148% growth; the Nanoe Hair Dryer and Hair Care Products, which registered a growth rate of 147%; the Healthy Air Frying Microwave Ovens, which recorded a remarkable growth rate of 194%; and, the new Bagless Canister and World’s First Detachable eXtreme Series Tank vacuum cleaner models, with an impressive growth rate of 145%.

    Additionally, the Nanoe-X and R32 refrigerant Residential Air Conditioner range introduced last year in GCC countries, performed well particularly in the Omani market where it registered an exceptional 201% growth. Nanoe-X is Panasonic’s latest patented purification technology capable of inhibiting 99.99% of bacteria and virus. On the other hand, R32 is an eco-friendly refrigerant which is energy efficient and has lower global warming and ozone depletion potential. Moreover, a number of Panasonic’s other cutting-edge technologies gained considerable popularity in 2022, including the bacteria-eliminating Abaya Wash Washing Machines, TVs equipped with HEXA chroma drive and HDR technology, and the “NutriTa Freeze” refrigerator series, which preserves food hygienically with its quick-freezing feature.

    For 2023, Panasonic is emphasizing anew its commitment to the region with focus on key markets expansion, further investments in R&D to develop locally-fit products and solutions, as well as stepping up sustainability initiatives. Another major component of the brand’s strategic plan for this year is the launching of the second edition of the Panasonic Influencer Affiliate Program (PIAP), an online initiative in which Panasonic partners with social media influencers to promote increased engagement with its customers, while empowering more consumers to live their best.

    Raising the bar for excellent customer service
    Focused on executing its growth strategy, Panasonic continues to find ways to deliver on its promise of seamless customer experiences. The opening of the brand new PMMAF Regional Parts Center in Dubai is seen to boost the company’s mission to ensure an effective response to customer needs. This state-of-the-art facility will guarantee that there are optimal parts in storage to supply each dealership and service center, therefore reducing overall repair time for customers. Meanwhile, the conduct of the Panasonic Customer Service Strategy Conference will once again tackle the brand’s action plan and strategies for the year ahead to keep pace and engage more closely with its customers. Hosted by PMMAF’s Customer Service Division, the conference will also feature the 12th Regional Technical Olympics, a repair skill competition conducted for the service technicians representing Panasonic’s Middle East Service Partner Companies. The Technical Olympics aims to discover Super Technician winners, who will be distinguished for their outstanding display of technical expertise and proficiency in repairing Major Domestic Appliances (Washing Machine and Air Conditioner). The skill-building initiative will also honor STAR Service Competition Awardees to commend those who demonstrated outstanding performance towards achieving service excellence in the year 2022.

    Panasonic Influencer Affiliate Program (PIAP)
    Building upon its successful inaugural run, PIAP is back to boost Panasonic’s continuous effort to advance customer communication. A competition open to social media influencers based across the Middle East, PIAP aims to partner with digital content creators who can use their passion in creating content to engage, educate and empower their community about Panasonic innovations. The competition is open to health, wellness, lifestyle, beauty, food/cooking, tech or fitness social media influencers with 10,000 and above followers on Instagram and/or TikTok at the time of participation. Following a rigorous evaluation process, 25 PIAP applicants will be shortlisted, each of whom will be provided with the latest Panasonic products to review in order for them to share their experience and create posts that will help spread the word about Panasonic’s technology. From the 25 PIAP members, five influencers who have earned the highest social media engagement rate on their posts will be conferred the Panasonic Middle East & Africa ‘Influencer of the Year’ Award.

    AbuDhabi(News Desk):: The countdown for the Electric Vehicles Innovation Summit (EVIS2023) is already underway.Now in its second version, the MENA region’s first and largest Electric Vehicle Exhibition and Conference will take place between May 29-31, 2023, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
    Organized by Nirvana Holding under the theme “Where EV Innovations Meet,” EVIS2023 will have a 3-day exhibition and a 2-day conference, bringing together the world’s most influential researchers, engineers, government officials, companies, and EV-related institutions to explore and discuss the latest technical, policy, and market achievements in the E-mobility scene.

    The exhibition provides a platform for the EV industry to showcase its latest solutions to an interested audience, including financiers and investors, engineers, R&D, and government officials. More than 5,000 professionals representing leading companies in the EV industry will be in Abu Dhabi with the goal of networking and sourcing the latest technologies across the 3 days of the exhibition. The exhibitors include EV-related manufacturers and distributors, fleet owners, integrated energy companies, banks, finance and investment firms, R&D companies, environmental agencies, government organizations, municipalities, public transport operators, etc.
