    How Thrifty Car Rental and The Giving Family Are Driving Change This Ramadan

    Dubai(News Desk):: As the UAE embraces the Year of Community, one car rental company is shifting gears from business as usual to a mission of giving. This Ramadan, Thrifty Car Rental partnered with The Giving Family, a grassroots initiative dedicated to supporting low-income communities, to provide meals and essential donations to those in need.
    On March 10, volunteers from Thrifty Car Rental stepped away from their desks and into Al Quoz, where they distributed 1,500 meals at The Giving Family’s distribution hub. But the effort doesn’t stop there. In a bid to extend the spirit of giving beyond Ramadan, Thrifty Car Rental also launched a nationwide donation drive, and urged all employees to contribute used clothes, books, and toys at designated drop-off points across its UAE branches.

    “Ramadan is a time of reflection, generosity, and community spirit,” said Rahul Singh,Managing Director (Thrifty & Dollar Car Rental) in the UAE. “For us, this initiative is about making a real impact beyond business. We’re honored to support those in need and to encourage a culture of collective giving, both within our organization and across the wider community.”

    The Giving Family, known for its humanitarian efforts, has been at the forefront of meal distribution drives and donation campaigns across the UAE. With the added support of a corporate partner like Thrifty Car Rental, the initiative is expected to reach even more families this year.

    The retreat, held at Nabd Al Falah, the newly inaugurated community hub in Al-Falah, served as a dynamic platform for reviewing the latest developments in the social sector, assessing the progress of various initiatives and programs, and identifying strategic priorities for the year ahead. The discussions emphasized the significance of enhancing integration across social services, ensuring alignment with national objectives, and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s vision for a prosperous and inclusive society.

    The retreat highlights a series of success stories from community members who have benefited from social services in the areas of family, people of determination, and early childhood. Participants also reviewed the key challenges facing the social sector, shedding light on priority topics and exploring innovative and sustainable solutions to enhance the quality of life for community members.

    Additionally, interactive brainstorming workshops were organized to discuss this year’s social priorities, with the aim of developing initiatives and programs that reflect these priorities and address actual community needs in alignment with the objectives of the Year of the Community.

    On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili stated: “The strategic retreats for the social sector represent an essential component of our ongoing efforts to advance Abu Dhabi’s vision of a thriving and inclusive society. Our wise leadership places people at the heart of development, ensuring that every individual enjoys a dignified and high-quality life.
