AbuDhabi(News Desk)::Abu Dhabi Police implemented field awareness campaigns within the (Safety Path 2) campaign for employees of private companies and workers’ cities in the Al Mafraq area in Abu Dhabi, focusing on spreading traffic culture and the campaign’s themes and providing the necessary instructions to ensure safety for all.

Colonel Dr. Abdullah Yousef Al Suwaidi, Director of the Traffic and Security Patrols Department in External Areas, stressed the keenness to cooperate with partners to implement the Abu Dhabi Emirate’s strategic plan for traffic safety, noting the importance that Abu Dhabi Police attaches to ensuring road safety by enhancing awareness of the importance of adhering to traffic safety principles and preserving the gains of security and stability.

The lectures presented by the Traffic Awareness and Education Branch of the Traffic Department and the security patrols in the external areas included providing guidance and advice on adhering to traffic laws and regulations, warning against the negative consequences of running a red light, and the dangers of being distracted from driving due to using the phone to browse the Internet and social networking sites, make calls, or take pictures.

Abu Dhabi Police urged pedestrians to cross from designated places and use bridges and tunnels, and to adhere to pedestrian traffic lights at intersections that operate simultaneously with traffic lights, and to pay attention and not be distracted by the phone while crossing, and to adhere to reducing speeds near designated pedestrian crossings and in industrial areas, and on internal roads in residential neighborhoods, and to give pedestrians priority when crossing. called on drivers to adhere to safe and careful driving in volatile weather conditions, not to be distracted by anything other than the road, and to leave a sufficient safe distance during rainfall and weather fluctuations, and the necessity of parking heavy vehicles (trucks, buses and workers’ buses) in a safe place when weather conditions worsen. She warned of the danger of random parking of vehicles on both sides of the roads, which threatens their safety and the safety of road users, and leads to obstructing traffic and causing traffic accidents, especially during evening rush hours.
