Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation Participates actively in Al Ain Date Festival۔

AbuDhabi(News Desk)::The Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation participates in the first edition of Al Ain Date Festival 2025, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, in Al Hili Oasis in Al Ain from January 3 to 8, 2025, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, to enhance its pioneering role in supporting and developing the palm cultivation and date production sector at the local and international levels.

Dr. Abdul Wahab Zayed, Secretary-General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, said that our participation in the Al Ain Date Festival comes under the directives of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Award, in celebration of Zayed’s humanitarian legacy in the field of palm cultivation, date production and processing, and in confirmation of the award’s commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at promoting sustainable development in the palm cultivation and date production sector. Through this platform, we seek to enhance dialogue with local partners and exchange experiences in a way that contributes to achieving food security and supporting the national economy.

The award’s participation comes within the framework of its commitment to highlighting innovations and achievements that serve the palm cultivation and date production sector and enhance the status of dates as a strategic product that represents part of the heritage, cultural and social identity of the United Arab Emirates. The award’s pavilion reflects its vision, mission and achievements in developing and advancing this sector at the national, regional and international levels, where the most prominent research projects and innovative technologies that won the award in the past years were displayed, in addition to reviewing the successes achieved over the past years in cooperation with local and international partners, in addition to awareness and cultural activities directed at farmers, specialists and visitors.

The Al Ain Dates Festival is one of the most prominent annual events organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, and reflects the depth of the UAE farmers’ connection to palm cultivation and date production as part of their ancient heritage. The festival brings together an elite group of farmers, experts and interested parties from different regions to exchange knowledge and learn about the latest innovations in this field.
