Sir Tom Jones’s rich baritone to be top draw at Burj Al Arab’s Great Gala Night

Dubai(Press Release): Six years after he thrilled audiences with his baritone at the Emirates Airlines Dubai Jazz Festival, iconic British singer Sir Tom Jones will return to Dubai to usher the New Year in style, at the Burj Al Arab hotel’s Great Gala Night concert on the 6th of January. The 82-year-old Welsh crooner will give an exclusive solo performance at the stunning open-air Marina Garden venue on a specially built outdoor stage, with the magnificent hotel Burj Al Arab providing the backdrop.

Sir Tom’s career has spanned six decades with 36 Top 40 hits including ‘It’s Not Unusual,’ ‘Green, Green Grass of Home’, ‘She’s Lady’ and ‘Delilah,’ 40 studio albums with more than 100 million records sold, and a string of Grammy, Ivor Novello and BRIT Awards. The late Queen Elizabeth conferred him with the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1999 and subsequently singled him out for a knighthood in 2006.

The 82-year old singing sensation continues to inspire mass hysteria with his latest single ‘Surrounded By Time’ which topped the UK album charts in 2021. His awards include a Grammy Award for Best New Artist (1966), an MTV Video Music Award (1989), BRIT Awards for Best Male Singer and Outstanding Contribution to Music, and GQ Man of The Year award. A protégé and collaborator of Elvis Presley, the ‘King of Rock and Roll’ who is said to have driven 250 miles to see Jones on stage because he was his “favourite singer.”

The Marina Garden with vistas overlooking the Arabian Gulf offers a perfect location for guests to be put under the spell of this legendary voice, as he spearheads the launch of the elite Great Gala Night series at the world-famous 5* landmark hotel. Guests at the glamorous black-tie event will mingle with Dubai’s elite. The night will include a red carpet, special reception, and seated dinner featuring dishes curated and prepared by Michelin star chefs following which Sir Tom will take the stage.

The Great Gala Night concert is the brainchild of M Premier, the moving spirit behind the Parus Music Festival in 2017, the international music festival that made waves in the UAE in 2017, and is being organised in partnership with the History Group and DR Entertainment.END
