    AbuDhabi(Press Release)::The Emirati company “G20” signed a strategic partnership agreement with the American company PharmXGen, so that “G20” will be the exclusive agent to supply and distribute in the Middle East and North Africa the newest Rapid Antigen tests in the world. The agreement was signed by His Excellency Dr. Mubarak Hamad Marzouq Al Ameri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirati G20 company, and Mr. Bill Henwood, President of the American company PharmXGen, at the headquarter of the G20 Company in Abu Dhabi.

    On this occasion, his Excellency Dr. Mubarak Hamad Marzouq Al Ameri said: “We are very pleased to cooperate with the American company PharmXGen, and we will be the exclusive agent for the company’s innovative intranasal Rapid Antigen tests, as they achieve speed in showing the test results in a period of time ranging from 3-10 minutes as a maximum, with a 100% efficiency. These tests have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, and they are used in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Germany and a number of countries in the world.

    Dr. Al-Ameri added: “The new screening tests are very important since they are the fastest in showing the results, whether negative or positive.     Under the directives of his highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the KIDPA & Agricultural Innovation, the Award’s General Secretariat released a book entitled “Date Palm Diseases and Pests” by Dr. Walid Abdul-Ghani Kaakeh,an expert on Diseases and Agricultural Pests.The book is one among a series of the Award’s scientific publications, through which the General Secretariat was keen to achieve the Award’s objectives for which it was established.As the Award became one of the main sources of information in the field of Date Palm cultivation, production and agricultural innovation, and benefiting from various experiences to improve the agricultural and date palm sector.

    Secretary-General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation Dr.AbdelOuahhab Zaid highlighted that this book includes scientific and technical information and guidance as well as recommendations that will benefit Date Palm cultivators, especially farmers, plant protection specialists, and Agricultural guides.Doctor Zaid also described that combating date palm diseases and pests is one of the important operations that farms tend to use to maintain the production of date palm trees, due to the damage and losses caused by pests.Therefore, the main goal of combating diseases and pests is to reduce their numbers to a level at which they can’t cause economic damage, in terms of quantity and quality.  Date palm tree pests, which contributed to the success of many different control programs and reduced the damage and dangers of these pests.

    AbuDhabi.(Press Release)Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation organized a virtual lecture, presenting “Dates, a rich source of food industry innovations”, by Eng. Emad Eissa, Postgraduate diploma in Food Production, consultant in date productions industry, on Wednesday the 23rd of December, 2020. The lecture was attended by 92 participants, representing 13 countries, among which are members of the Date Palm Friends Society in the UAE, date palm farmers, and Agricultural experts.

    This virtual lecture held via Zoom, comes under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak

    Al Nahyan ,Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, President of the Award’s Board of Trustees, and within the Award’s framework and commitment to spread the scientific knowledge and awareness on the Date Palm Best Practices, and providing technical and scientific advice and support to farmers to help them improve the Dates quality. Dr. Abdelouahhab Zaid, the Award’s Secretary General, expressed his appreciation to the extended scientific and professional efforts made by the international expert, Eng. Emad Eissa in increasing the growth and development rates of the food industry. Pointing out that the Arabic dates are eligible to compete internationally, where some have already achieved advanced rankings in the global date palm market. Thanks to a set of factors, where one of the most important factors is the full application of good agricultural and manufacturing practices which will in return increase the value of Arabic dates.For his side, Eng. Emad Eissa, presented during the lecture that most of the date manufacturing industries are limited to the manufacturing of molasses (Dibs) and dough, while dates as a raw material has an important industrial qualities, such as its sweet taste and flavorlessness, which makes it easy adding it to many products without affecting the targeted flavor of the product. This is in addition to that dates can be converted into several forms such liquid form (molasses), dough (paste) and dry powder, where dates consist of a high nutritional value compared to other fruits (sugars, fibers and minerals). The different forms of dates could also be part of a wide international food manufacturing industries, as it could be used as a substitute to refined sugar, or in producing new products to be widely available in markets, as the demand on refined sugar free products is in increasing due to the increasing nutritional awareness, and the imposed high taxes in many countries on products containing refined sugar.

    Moving forward, Eng. Emad then presented from a scientific prospective in details some of the possible opportunities in the date field, where a wide range of innovative date manufacturing industries could be created, which also has a high economical and nutritional feasibility, such as: caramelized date cream, Baser chips, concentrated Baser juice, date pickles, energy and protein bars, and dates molasses spreads and much more.Eng. Emad Eissa, then concluded the lecture by highlighting the great role played by the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation in supporting and developing the date palm cultivation sector and the date production worldwide, through the organizing Jordan International Date Palm Festival, Sudan International Date Palm Festival, and Egypt International Date Palm Festival and the accompanying activities and events. Which actively contributed to the increase the reputation of the Arab dates and the volume of exports, in addition to the series of international conferences organized by the Award’s General Secretariat for over twenty years.

    ABU DHABI, 3rd October, 2020 :: The Ministry of Presidential Affairs, in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, NCEMA, announced the re-opening of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, SZGM, both in Abu Dhabi and Fujairah as well as the Founder’s Memorial in the UAE capital, to visitors from tomorrow, Sunday.

    The reopening will pursue a high-standard system of precautionary measures, health, and safety guidelines following the precautionary closure against COVID-19 over the past months.

    Relevant precautionary measures will be in place to ensure a safe cultural experience for all visitors through an integrated system to maintain all relevant health and safety guidelines, including capping visitor numbers and setting specific visiting times to manage visitor experience and avoid overcrowding.

    Precautionary measures also include the installation of thermal cameras to take body temperatures at all entrances; establishing an isolation room for those identified with high body temperatures, pending the arrival of healthcare teams; ensuring social distancing; and avoiding crowds from gathering.

    In the same context, public cultural tours continue to be halted to maintain physical distancing. Lending of electronic devices, clothing and other similar services have been discontinued.

    Social media platforms, including Instagram, will be used along with LED screens to display videos explaining all of the COVID-19 prevention measures.

    Visitor signage will be in place communicating the significance of wearing face masks and pursuing other relevant countermeasures taken by the State to cap visitor numbers and ensure social distancing.

    In coordination with relevant state departments, the management teams of all cultural landmarks are forging ahead with intensive periodic disinfection measures covering all places to visit, starting from their entrances and including all areas of attractions.

    An online booking system for visitors has been launched, through which they can set the date and time of visit. The system can be accessed by visiting the respective websites of the aforementioned cultural and religious destinations.

    Remote cultural tours in Arabic and English will continue to deliver the values and messages of the abovementioned landmarks through a live streaming on Instagram, with their dates and timings to be identified through their official websites and social media accounts.

    Baku , 26 July 2020 : Gathering to launch a serious peace process in accordance with the Helsinki Final Act and the United Nations resolutions,Hikmat Hajiyev, the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan declares the city of Baku to be visited by a delegation of the OSCE Minsk Group.Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan whilst heading the Foreign Policy Section of the Presidential Court, Mr. Hajiyev stated that his country is seeking to recover its lands from Armenia through peaceful means
    and serious negotiations.Announcing in a press statement today, he highlighted that Azerbaijan awaits
    the visit of a high-level delegation from the Minsk, a group headed by the Ambassadors of Russia, France, and the United States of America and is affiliated to the Organization for Security and European Cooperation consisting of 11 countries to instigate the peace process.He accused Armenia of failing to respect the ceasefire and continuing its un constructive stance. The violation on the armistice on an almost daily basis was sometimes the main reason for the outbreak of clashes between the two
    sides on the borders.He described peace talks with Armenia as ineffective and made clear that his
    country does not wish to participate in formal talks on the Karabakh mountain conflict. “The discussions should be organized within a framework consistent with the principles of the Minsk Group .

    Hikmat Hajiyev said that Armenia continues its provocations towards the Peacock Province from the borders of Azerbaijan and Armenia International. He explained that the situation was fully evaluated by President Ilham Aliyev in the meetings of the Security Council and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.Accusing Armenia of trying to bring political military organizations, he stated that Armenia joins its membership and third parties into the conflict to disrupt the development projects implemented by Azerbaijan, damaging the East-West transport corridor and oil and gas pipelines and exposing the region to new environmental disasters and occupying new lands.The Karabakh mountain conflict is one of the largest conflicts in the nineties,broke out between the Republic of South Caucasus, Azerbaijan and Armenia in 1988.

    President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the release of 515 prisoners on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.The pardoned prisoners had been sentenced to jail terms for a variety of offenses.

    His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed also pledged to settle the financial obligations of the released prisoners.The President’s pardon comes within the context of the UAE’s humanitarian initiatives based on values of forgiveness and tolerance and gives the released prisoners a chance to change for the better by starting a new life and engage in positive participation in a manner that benefits their families and communities.

    The annual pardon also comes as part of Sheikh Khalifa’s keenness to enhance family cohesion, bring about happiness to mothers and children and give the pardoned prisoners a chance to reconsider their future and return back to the righteous path that ensures a successful social and professional life.

    UAE underlines need to balance health and economic recovery at 2nd Extraordinary G-20 Sherpa Meeting

    ABU DHABI, 24th July 2020 (WAM) -Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State and UAE Sherpa, has underlined the challenges countries continue to face from COVID-19, during the Second Extraordinary G-20 Sherpa Meeting on Friday.

    The UAE attended in its capacity as a guest invitee at the Group of 20 (G-20) Summit, which will take place in November 2020 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Today’s meeting was conducted virtually. The Sherpa Meeting gathered official representatives of G-20 member countries to discuss preparations for the Summit, and also to provide a stock-take of progress on combatting COVID-19.

    As a truly global challenge, addressing the COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts requires a strong global response. Al Sayegh said that with less than five months left before the Riyadh Summit, the G20 Sherpas had a pivotal role in taking stock of the progress and continuing to formulate key messages for the Leaders’ Summit Declaration in November.

    He continued to emphasise the importance of the G-20 focusing on COVID-19’s impact on developing and least-developed countries, and welcomed plans for a G-20 Emergency COVID-19 Response and Recovery Plan in African and Low Income and Developing Countries, as well as the G-20’s endorsement of the Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI).

    The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) had announced that it would suspend debt service repayments during 2020 for eligible countries. The UAE has also played a constructive role in supporting countries in dealing with COVID-19, through the provision of over 1,100 metric tons of aid to 89 countries in support of over a million health professionals.

    Al Sayegh emphasised that the UAE’s recent successful launch of ‘Hope’, the first-ever Arab-led probe to Mars was “truly an exercise in international collaboration, with UAE scientists working closely with counterparts from many other countries to prepare the probe for launch and beyond.”

    He reminded Sherpas that “we can achieve great things when we collaborate for the common good” and that the “UAE believes in the importance of a strong message of unity emerging out of the Leaders’ Summit in November.

    “During the run-up to the Leaders’ Summit in November, G-20 Members and invited countries have already participated in more than 13 Ministerial meetings, 45 Working Group meetings and 29 side events. In addition, the first-ever G20 Leaders’ Virtual Summit took place on 26 March, and committed to take decisive actions on the economy, health, trade, and investment.  In December 2019, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia invited the UAE, in its capacity as current Chair of the GCC, to engage in the 2020 G-20 process. This Second Extraordinary Sherpa Meeting followed the First Extraordinary Sherpa Meeting, which took place on 25 March 2020. Established in 1999, the G-20 Summit is an annual gathering of representatives of the world’s largest economies that works to strengthen international economic cooperation. This year’s theme under Saudi Arabia’s G-20 presidency is “Realising Opportunities of the 21st Century for All”, with the broad aims of “Empowering People, Safeguarding the Planet, and Shaping New Frontiers.”
